Departures, Murphy's Kids' latest full length release on Community Records, makes clear to the fans and critics alike that Murphy's Kids is a force in the studio as well as on stage. It showcases their breadth of style, but speaks to common themes; it will take you out into a spacey-jam, but is intertwined with crushing riffs and deep reggae grooves. “We want it to showcase the styles that shake your hips, but touch your heart.” says John Charlet, Murphy's Kids' singer. Murphy's Kids has been seen at outdoor festivals and punk dives. They have been featured on bills with artists that range as widely as Alien Ant Farm, The Fray and Soldiers of Jah Army.
